We build for an industry that deserves better software.

Independent jewelers have been sold expensive, locked-down, half-finished technology for two decades — usually by companies who understood software but not jewelry, or jewelry but not software. JewelersDigital exists because the gap between those two things is where a whole industry has been losing ground.

How this started

Not with a market analysis. It started with a jeweler whose website was broken, whose inventory system did not talk to it, and who had been told by three different vendors that the problem was one of the other two.

Fixing that took understanding both halves — the code and the counter. And once you understand both halves, you notice that the same problem is sitting in almost every independent jewelry store in the country: a website that cannot see the inventory, an inventory system that cannot see the suppliers, and an owner who is being asked to be the integration between them.

That is a solvable problem. It just requires someone willing to build for a specific industry rather than a generic merchant, and willing to do the unglamorous connective work rather than only the parts that look good in a screenshot.

What we actually believe

The store should own the store.

We build on Shopify, in the jeweler's own account, deliberately. If a client leaves us, they keep the storefront, the theme, the products, the customers, and the domain. A platform should make you harder to replace, not harder to leave — and a business model that depends on holding a website hostage is a business model that stops trying.

The counter is the advantage, not the liability.

Most technology sold to jewelers implicitly treats the physical store as the thing to work around. We think that is exactly backwards. Two in three jewelry buyers still purchase in person. The counter is the moat. Our entire product exists to route people toward it — which is why the phrase we organize everything around is click to counter.

Automation drafts. People decide.

We use AI heavily — product copy, briefing cards, catalog content at a scale no human could write. We also never let it publish on its own. Every draft is reviewed before it reaches a customer or a system of record, because in a category where a single wrong specification is a legal problem, "mostly right at scale" is not good enough.

Prices belong on the pricing page.

This industry runs on "call for pricing," which usually means the price depends on what the vendor thinks you can pay. We publish ours. It is a small thing that says a lot about how a company intends to treat you.

Both sides of the counter, or neither.

We build for retailers and for wholesalers, because they rise and fall together. A retailer cannot modernize if their suppliers are still working from PDFs, and a supplier cannot grow if their retailers cannot present the line. Serving one side while ignoring the other means solving half of every problem.

A small team, on purpose.

You will not be handed from a salesperson to an account manager to an offshore build team. The people who scope your project are the people who build it and the people who answer when you call.

We do the work ourselves.

Design, development, integration, and support come from the same team. Nothing is subcontracted to someone who has never spoken to you.

We answer the phone.

When something digital breaks, you call one number. If it turns out to be Shopify’s problem or your POS vendor’s problem, it is still ours to chase down.

We tell you when to say no.

If a smaller plan fits you better, or your existing site is worth keeping, we will say so. A client who resents the invoice does not renew.

Meet Derek Adams.

Founder · Digital strategist · Product lead

Before founding JewelersDigital, Derek served as a digital strategy executive on the wholesale side of the jewelry industry. Years spent working with retail partners gave him a close view of the same problems surfacing again and again: disconnected systems, costly websites that were difficult to own, and technology built without the realities of the jewelry counter in mind.

That perspective became the foundation for JewelersDigital — a connected commerce platform created to give independent retail and wholesale jewelers first-class storefronts, clearer operations, and technology designed around how jewelry is actually sold.

JewelersDigital is a U.S.-based business, and strategy, development, and ongoing support stay close to the work. When you call, you reach people who know both your project and the decisions behind it.

JewelersDigital is built by Smada Works.

Smada Works LLC builds commerce infrastructure for independent operators. JewelersDigital is our jewelry-industry platform and build practice — the deepest and most specialized thing we do, running in production for both retail and wholesale jewelry businesses today.

  • Founder-led and engineer-run. The person who architects the platform is in the code and on the calls.
  • Production, not pitch decks. Everything on this site is either running today or explicitly labeled as what we are building next.
  • Shopify-native by choice. We build on the platform with the largest support ecosystem in commerce so our clients are never dependent on us alone.
  • Jewelry-specific by commitment. Memos, ring requests, stone specs, supplier feeds, briefing cards — none of this exists in general-purpose commerce software, and building it is the whole point.
